Our Story

Our journey to healthy eating has been full of ups and downs and twists and turns. Although there is always more to learn, one thing we know for sure is that what we eat affects how we feel. Once we started paying attention to the foods we were putting into our bodies, we noticed that a lot of the treats and snacks on the market were filled with ingredients we couldn't pronounce and tons of processed sugar. Products that at first glance looked "healthy" contained artificial or processed sweeteners, thickening gums, and worst of all - they didn’t taste great.

We wanted to eat healthy, but we also didn’t want to give up our favorite indulgence - ice cream. We knew we couldn’t be the only ones out there so we set out to create a fun and satisfying treat made from only natural ingredients that anyone could enjoy. Our pops are made from only whole ingredients - no fillers, no refined sugars, no fake stuff! That means Izza Pops are dairy-free, soy-free, gluten-free, vegan, and paleo.

Our pops are named after grandma "Izza" Burke who was an incredibly caring grandmother and has served as the inspiration for our philosophy on food. Her kindness and commitment to lifting up everyone around her inspires us to create the best possible treat and share kindness through food.

About us

Growing up in Indiana, Alexia didn’t hear the words “gluten-free” until at least her early 20s. Living in Chicago and San Francisco enlightened her to the many possibilities of food and nutrition, and in 2016 she began following a dairy free diet and hasn’t looked back. After five years in the consulting and tech worlds, she is thoroughly enjoying making and sharing popsicles everyday. She believes that real food shouldn’t be so hard to come by, and is passionate about making healthy food affordable and accessible to all.

After recently finding out about a gluten sensitivity, Lisa began to learn more about other people’s dietary needs and restrictions. It can be incredibly difficult to find the right food options and she believes everyone should have access to the quality food that makes them feel good. With a background in Industrial Design plus a passion for food, she’s excited to be the creative half helping to create a better frozen snack.
